DRIVES AND MOTORS
DRIVES AND MOTORS
OUR CAPABILITIES
With various sizes, speeds, and forms, the combination of drives and motors creates an endless amount of customization for your application. Motors can be high torque or high speed, rotary or linear, and synchronous (AC induction), and synchronous permanent magnet (AC/DC servo). There are PWM servo drives, linear servo drive, distributed CANOpen networked drives, and that’s not even considering embedded drive/motor systems or controller/drive combinations. Simply put, you can customize a motor and drive combination to operate in any environment, for any application.
At Motion Automation Intelligence, we’ll help choose a drive and motor type based on your application needs and budgetary issues. We have deployed thousands of motors in OEM and end user applications, including general purpose automation, machine tool, material handling, medical, military, office automation, robotics, packaging, forming, extrusion, printing, test & simulation, and more.
HOW WE CAN HELP
DRIVE AND MOTOR SOLUTIONS
Variable Frequency Drives (VFD)
VFDs control the voltages and currents entering the system’s motor, automatically adjusting the speed and torque according to the load requirements. A single VFD can control multiple motors at the same time.
Servo Drives
We supply a broad range of servos that can be matched with single-axis or multi-axis machine controllers for a system solution that offers the highest quality and reliability in the business.
AC Induction Motors
Asynchronous (AC induction) motors are typically driven by variable frequency drives (VFD). They do not have permanent magnet rotors and are typically larger, making them ideal for lower performance applications.
AC/DC Servo Motors
Synchronous (AC/DC servo) motors have permanent magnet rotors, allowing the electrical field generated by the stator to be “synchronized” to the rotor. They are best for very high acceleration, speed, and precise positioning applications.
Stepper Motors
Brushless DC electric motors that rotate in steps. They generate high torque and quick acceleration, can be accurately controlled without a feedback mechanism, and are driven by electrical pulses that determine their angle and speed of rotation.
Stepper Drives
Actuators that transform pulse signals into angular displacement signals, allowing stepper motors to rotate and hold positions at specific angles. They offer high torque and accuracy and are a cost-effective solution for powering stepper motors.
