Ice Cream Container Inspection
One food manufacturer that this is crucial for is ice cream manufacturers. When Motion Automation Intelligence had a customer that required a machine vision solution for this, we went to work to create them a custom application. This application provides a 360° inspection of the customer's ice cream containers during manufacturing. The customer also specified that they needed this system to be able to determine whether or not the correct lid was on each ice cream package to ensure allergen safety.
Vision Inspection System Features
The vision inspection system that we created for our ice cream manufacturer customer contained a number of helpful tools and features, including the following:
- Inspection of lids to determine if the lid is absent or present, as well as if present lids are the correct kind for each type of ice cream
- Recipe driven system that is managed by the end-user
- User management system that allows new people to be added to the system using RFID badges
- Up to 400 parts per minute Inspection Metrics that is stored in SQL server database
- Fault data that is stored in SQL server database
- User login and logout that is stored in SQL server database
