Motion Automation Intelligence designed this machine vision system to locate paper labels attached to the paper rolls and utilize OCR to acquire the tracking number printed on the label. Plus, any defects are found and reported to the operator, ensuring high quality control.
The system features a high-precision 16K line scan camera that acquires images from the outer surface of large paper roll packages. The image processing then locates labels and defects and reports this information to the customer's PLC.
Our system is incredibly efficient, with a cycle time of just 7 seconds to acquire an image and 4 seconds to process. Additionally, the OCR can be used on various background materials, making it a versatile solution.
This inspection system uses a high-density, high-speed line scan camera to acquire very large images and auto-adjusts for variation in the product to produce a uniform image for analysis. The processing time for an image size of 750 Mbytes is also rapid. With the ability to inspect large paper rolls approximately 5 ft in diameter and 6 ft wide, our solution is perfect for your business.
